Huge News On The Future Of AMERICAN HORROR STORY!

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW has really been making some noise as of late. An amazing cast has been assembled and finally after the debut episode we now know that the chemistry is there for sure. The premiere episode hit the air waves one week ago and it certainly delivered. So much in fact that the show is now a record breaker.

October 8th saw FREAK SHOW take the main stage. After all of the hype, the showing was able to bring in 10 million viewers, surpassing the previous FX record of 9.3 million which was set by the hit show SONS OF ANARCHY. With this broken record FX has already went ahead and called for the order of a fifth season. Another 13 episode season is expected to make it's debut in October 2015.

Although it may have seemed like a shoe in for the series to earn yet another deserving season, a question comes to mind. Will Jessica Lange return? Earlier in the year Lange made it known that the FREAK SHOW would be her final performance with AHS. Creator Ryan Murphy has hopes of getting her to return by creating a character for her that she cannot refuse.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW is set in the quiet, sleepy hamlet of Jupiter, Fla. The year is 1952. A troupe of curiosities has just arrived to town, coinciding with the strange emergence of a dark entity that savagely threatens the lives of townsfolk and freaks alike. This is the story of the performers and their desperate journey of survival amidst the dying world of the American carny experience.

Jessica Lange portrays Elsa Mars, Kathy Bates plays Effil Darling, Angela Bassett is Desiree Dupree, Sarah Paulson pulling double duty as Siamese twins Bette and Dot Tattler, Evan Peters plays Jimmy Darling, Emma Roberts is Maggie, and Naomi Grossman as Pepper.

Plus, AHS newcomer Michael Chiklis stars as Wendell Del Toredo, and joining the cast this season is John Carroll Lynch, the wicked Twisty the clown. Also starring are Francis Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Wes Bentley, Finn Wittrock, Patti LaBelle, Jyoti Amge, and Matt Bomer.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW airs Wednesdays on FX.

On a related note, FX made an announcement last week of a spin off anthology miniseries for AMERICAN HORROR STORY, AMERICAN CRIME STORY beginning with the 10 episode AMERICAN CRIME STORY: THE PEOPLE V. O.J. SIMPSON, which will start production in 2015.
