Update On The CW's FRIDAY THE 13TH TV Series!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

With three FRIDAY THE 13TH projects going at once, it only makes sense that fans are a little concerned. First there is the new feature film in which we will be seeing Jason Voorhees make his return to the big screen, Gun Media and IllFonic's upcoming video game release titled FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE GAME, and the CW's possible TV series based on Crystal Lake. Out of the three, the television series possibility is the least embraced when it comes to the die hard fans.

We have now learned from EW that the FRIDAY THE 13TH TV series is no longer moving forward at the CW network. Here is what CW president Mark Pedowitz had to say on the situation:

“The bottom line is we felt we had stronger things to go with, and we didn’t go forward with it. It was well-written, it was darker than we wanted it to be, and we didn’t believe it had sustainability … We didn’t believe that it was a sustainable script, a sustainable series. It was a very good pilot, but not a sustainable series.”

There you have, no more FRIDAY THE 13TH Series from the CW network. This however does not mean that another FRIDAY THE 13TH series won't be created for another network down the line sometime as anything can happen.

We will continue to keep you updated on all things FRIDAY THE 13TH.
