Last Horror Film Watched?

Lets hear what the last horror movie you watched. I just finished watching HIGH TENON for the 3rd time, it gets better every time I see it. Fantastic slasher-esq. movie with a great plot and even though the "twist" ending isn't my favorite it is still in one of my top foreign horror films of the last decade. If you haven't seen it check it out. A French horror film with a kick. Definitely one that is worth a viewing regardless if it is dubbed or subtitled.

Zombie Strippers

Hey, how was that by the way?

It's got zombies AND strippers.

How could it be bad? It was no Romero film, but overall it was enjoyable.

Think of a Troma film with a (not much) larger budget.

I must warn ya.

It is a movie about strippers, so there is nudity and pole dancing throughout most of the film.

The acting was horrible.

The stereotypical actions and quotes from "Paco the Mexican janitor" was almost enough to make me quit watching.

The gunfire and flash is laughably edited in.

It looks as though it was an afterthought.The makeup was pretty good on most of the zombies.

Jenna Jamison's makeup was probably the best, followed by the makeup on her first victim.

Some of the zombies got latex/licone appliances while others were just white and black makeup.Overall, it's worth a rent if you're a fan of B-movies.

Still better than Jason X, but I liked that movie too.

I just finished watching the new Grindhouse Releang feature on DVD called PIECES which was great! I highly recommend it for anyone into slasher/giallo films.

Last horror movie I saw was, Friday The 13th on opening night.

I give it a solid 8/10.

Overall a very enjoyable Friday film.

Before that would be, Underworld:

Rise of the Lycans.

Which I give a solid 8/10 as well.

Very good movie, only downfall was you already knew how it was going to end.

The Poughkeepe Tapes - I'd recommend it to anyone if you're not ealy rattled.

If you like crime/serial killer documentaries, you'll probably like this.

Babytter Wanted - A semi-original idea for a change, with a few interesting twists and turns.The Unborn - A total wast of time ade from the extremely hot female lead.

I don't know how Gary Oldman got mixed up in this one; maybe he lost a bet or something.

I loved it! It's not Tommy Boy but Spade and Farley were priceless together, period I think we're talking about different "Sheep". Just saw Jason X for the first time.

Kane Hodder was just so awesome but the rest was the movie was...well...ANYWAY, Kay-Em was pretty cool, Rowan was kinda useless(which was sad because I'm a big fan of the Survivor Girls) and the other characters were fucking annoying!

I loved the beginning and the very end though.

Just saw MARTYRS today. Hmmm really dont know what to say about this movie. French horror is a little different like Scandinavian horror movies, they are more art movies and can get a little depresve sometimes, but good!

It is very disturbing movie, you know the torturing. I don't know, I would give 6.5/10.

I haven't seen many of the Horrorfest movies, but this is without a doubt the worst of the group.

Was it the censored veron of MURDER SET PIECES or the directors cut? The uncut veron is over the top. The director Nick Palumbo isnt too well liked in the horror film community.

Anyway my most recent horror is Argento's STENDAHL SYNDROME........6 1/2 of 10. Some ck moments and probably the better of Dario's later works but it could have been a lot better.

Watched like half of Fright Night on there last night, love that fuckin movie Too bad I had a splitting headache and has to turn it offok that had to be the cut veron. Ive seen both. I dont mind extreme but some of the stuff in the uncensored veron was just over the top to the point of.....huh? also I dont like seeing kids mixed up with depravity etc.

Watched Phantasm 1, 2, and 3 on Sunday.

I've always been a fan of the first two installments but had never seen Part 3 until now, and I have to say it was a disappointment.

As far as acting goes, I've learned not to expect much from the franchise ade from Angus Scrimm, who always gives a good performance even with his limited speaking parts; however, the acting from the rest of the cast just seemed particularly bad in this outing.

I have Part 4 ready to watch, but I'm not sure I want to after tting through Part 3.

Hi guy's because of how my job is set up I work four twelve hour days and i'm off three days. So last time I was off I decided to have a little Friday The 13th marathon. I was able to watch Part 1 all the way up to Part 7. I'm not off again until next Wed. as I picked up overtime for pretty much the whole week. Just watched Drag Me To Hell.

It really was a great movie, a lot of over the top "Raimi moments" that made me smile.

The story was engaging and interesting, and the ending is definitely one of those dark "Halloween 3" kinda moments where you are just shocked and stunned by the direction they took.

The ending was genius, kudos to Raimi and co for not taking the safe path to an ending.

Thanks to one of the two cool lists Justin and Joel posted here I've been turned on to several great flicks lately.

The wife and I watched "Right At Your Door" last night and really liked it.

Reminded me a lot of "Open Water" with the minimal cast and strong focus on a primary relationship trying to cope with terrible circumstances that could actually happen in real life.

Great flick.

Just watched the anime Dante's Inferno ... does this countAny way, the depictions of Hell were absolutly amazing

. I so loved it. If any of you have played the game, of have even heard of the concept, the anime adds a little more of the original poem into it, but nothing is taken out, as a matter of fact, SOME scenes in the anime are more violent then what they were in the video game

"Deadline"

While the strung-out/90s-grunge look worked VERY well for Brittany Murphy it was a bit depresng because I kept thinking, "She already looks dead in this movie."

Maybe this was purely intentional condering the story, but it was still eerie & depresng.

I must say though, I wasn't that impressed.

I think I've become totally sentized to all the cheap-shot scares, overtly predictability, & obvious foreshadowing.

Just my opinion, though - & we all know the saying about opinions, right?

Triangle My wife & I must say we were pleasantly surprised (although the merry-go-round effect drove Angel a bit nuts for a little while.)

More suspense & head-trip than "pure-horror," but it sometimes felt like The Shining meets Ghost Ship meets F13 Pt. 2 (just because of sack-head.)

We do realize that maybe we thought it was good because we expected less due to the cover art...but you know what they say about judging by covers

Rob Zombie's Halloween, nce I really wanted to compare it to the original Halloween (which is honestly the greatest slasher film in the genre and one of the greatest horror films period). While it was not scary (partially due to the fact that it is a remake) and I didn't like giving Michael a reason to kill every moving thing, I liked it. It came close to a remake's goal: to bring you a movie respectful to the source material, yet add something new. Still, the original was much better.

I had to watch John Carpenter's Halloween and halloween II so I could get the awful taste of Rob Zombie's Halloween out of my mouth. I loved House of 1000 Corpses and Rejects and they are two of my fav films and then Zombie had to take the most prolific definition of evil who had no reason to kill and gave him the reason of coming from an abuve white trash family. Lost all respect for Zombie as a filmaker for that one. He also took Donald Pleasence's Loomis and made him an egotistical waste of a character. John Carpenter made the most iconic horror villian of today. Rob Zombie killed him.

Ahhhhh. Just finished behind The Mask: The Rise Of leslie vernon. Best movie to come out nce the original NOES.... Most original storyline, and killer in ages. Mask.... Amazing. Ties for my fav movie now with the likes of Night Of The Living Dead and John Carpenter's Halloween. Awesome job Scott Glosserman. Give us some more Leslie.... 1000% agreed, I LOVE this movie.

They nailed every aspect of it, down to the perfect song for the end credits.

Honestly I can say compared to the original, it was about just as good. Downfalls are too many big name actresses, not as much gore as the original, and not as demonic. Otherwise this is one of the better remakes I have seen. Good cameo from Linnea Quigley and a pretty good storyline. Could've been worse. Worth watching I think.

I just watched Rob Zombie's Halloween again.

It of course will never replace the original but I really like this film. Rob Z. did a lot of cool things with this film. The treatment of Myers as a child and the build up of Myers as a psychopathic personality were good. Some might not like all the changes he made but a shot for shot remake would truly be a disservice. Sure I would rather see R.Z. make original films because he has proven he is capable( I loved the Devil's Rejects, end scene is glorious) but adapting something is a valuable skill as well. At least i think it is.

Last one I watched was Return of the Living Dead 3 and it wasn't quite as awesome as I remember it being. Props were great and had the typical ROTLD over the top vibe but they went a bit heavy on the love story sprinkles that seem to ruin everythings flavor.

I just finished watching the original My Bloody Valentine and the 2009 3D remake and then I watched Rob Zombie's Halloween II again. I know that there are a lot of people that hate Rod Z's. H2 but I like it. it is not as good as his veron of the first Halloween but it is alright. I do think that he used the vions that Myers was seeing of his mother and his younger self a bit too much. They are a nice touch and are done well but he could have rained it in a bit. I also am not real big on the fact that he makes the Loomis character into a real dirt bag. Over all though it is a good film. :)

Well i was trying to watch The Shining yesterday and today but no dice. I had the dere to watch the film but at first i could not find it. I keep all my movies on a series of book shelves so I went through all of those to no avail. So I had to be frustrated for a couple of days till I finally found the DVD box under a dresser in my bedroom. How it ended up there i'll never know. But I was happy as a pig in slop when I found it. That of course was to be a short lived happiness because when I tried to watch the film in my PC the damn thing would not play!

I was about to tear whats left of my hair out when finally the DVD started to work and I was enjoying the film.

Things were running smoothly till I got about halfway through the film and it started sputtering and i had to stop watching because it just does not want to work.

I'm watching a disc of a season of Friends right now and it works just fine. And i have had this disc of the Shining for a few years now and I have never run into this kind of trouble before. it is just driving me nuts!!!

Thanks to the HOH podcast I watched Carriers and The Uninvited and enjoyed them both.

I probably never would have watched The Uninvited if it didn't cause such a stir on their top movies of the 00's.

I just had to check it out, and I'm glad I did.

I'm watching Identity right now on Cinemax; haven't seen it in a few years.

I just saw PIN for the first time. There were moments of genius in the film and it was generally creepy. But i couldn't help but want more backstory on the kids. Given, the runtime is just under two hours, but i couldn't help but feel they should've spent more time showing us the children at a younger age.

Overall, i definitely enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone who holds a special place in their heart for 80s horror films.

Sleepaway Camp.

Great movie. It was my first time watching it and i really enjoyed it. I didn't think i could fear Angela but at the very end when she is breathing heavy and staring into the camera all balls out i got chills. I'm condering getting the sequels from netflix. Anyone know if they are worth viewing?

Caged (Captifs) - french thriller. I liked it, it was extremly plauble... Some of the effects were a bit off though, but I would rate it a 7/10 for creepiness.

Other movies I've seen recently: Cradle will fall - I liked the portraing of the totally psychotic batshit crazy mother and the ending creeped me out. The problem was that I didn't really care for any of the victims or the "hero".. :P

Incubus: Oh GOD I want those 84 minutes of my life back! It was HORRIBLE! Everything in it was awful, the acting was crappy beyond belief (Tara Reids grieving her brother made me want to tear my ears off) and the story turned out to be a mishmash of weird shit. 2/10 (because some of the effects were not that awful and I found the "bad guy" kinda hot in a really weird way).

Welcome to the jungle: Not at all the gory semi trainwreck I was expecting - in a good way! Out of the four main characters I felt sorry for two and Good Riddance of the other two. Barely any gore at all, but it had that FEELING! You know, when you just KNOW that everything is gonna turn out sooooo bad for everyone and you can't say EXACLY how. 6/10, some more effects would have been nice on occation.

I just finished Kevin Smith's RED STATE. I have to say I was totally blown away by this movie. Not really a horror film in my opinion, more of a thrill but great acting and twisted "Branch Davidian" storyline. John Goodman was golden! It's a must see.

You literally took the words from my mouth! Incredible film although I can't help but feel that Kevin Smith's original ending would have been really really cool...

I never was a fan of horror movies mply because I get frightened ealy. If you forced me to watch one, I'll be imagining about it for the longest time. So it's not really advisable for me to watch. However, (hihih) I find it fascinating as to how film people scare moviegoers just like in lent Hill which I just watched last night. Thanks to my very good coun who sneaked out of bed to dl it via Fast-Debrid and even dl a pic from Google and made it my wallpaper. I was creeped out when I woke up! >.< He was laughing his heart out when he saw my rxn when I saw the picture but he got shut when we watched it. hahah!
