It seems like another film that didn't do so well here in the States is getting a sequel despite it's meager box office take. As per THR, Paramount and MGM have announced today that a sequel to Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is in development.

Although the film bombed on U.S. shores by only taking in $54 million at the box office , internationally the film pulled in $150 million which was the inciting factor for giving the project the green-light.
The hit movie starred Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the grown-up fairy tale characters now dedicated to eradicating witches. Currently there is no word as to whether Renner and/or Arterton will make their returns in the sequel.
Stay tuned for more.
