After a seven year break in the franchise, the eighth film in the SAW franchise titled JIGSAW was finally released just last year. The film made $38 million in the United States and another $64.8 million in territories outside of the U.S. With a grand total of $102.9 million made from a flick that had a budget of $10 million, it makes sense that another entry is very possible.

According to B-D, Lionsgate and SAW producers Twisted Pictures are in discussions to create a SAW 9. The only information that we have about the project is that JIGSAW directors Michael and Peter Spierig are not slated to return.

JIGSAW synopsis:

“Bodies turning up around the city, each having met a uniquely gruesome demise. As the investigation proceeds, evidence points to one man: John Kramer. But how can this be? The man known as Jigsaw has been dead for over a decade. Or has an apprentice picked up the mantle of Jigsaw, perhaps even someone inside the investigation?”
