POLL: Is Freddy Innocent or Guilty?

With the new A Nightmare On Elm Street's release just around the bend, I thought I'd ask your opinions on one new aspect of the film. Supposedly, is is left for the audience (for some portion of the film) to decide for themselves whether or not Fred Krueger actually murdered those children before he was killed by a mob of vengeful parents. Whether or not you like this new angle, you should have an idea of which you think will be the truth.

I say there's no way they make him innocent. I think that Freddy being a child-molesting murderer in life gives him the proper back story to be a vicious child-murdering monster after his death. So yeah, I say he's guilty.

What do you think?

See I think that the WRONGLY accused and executed Freddy becomes an unrested ghost hell-bent on revenge. It makes more sense to me that way. I don't get anything out of him being a correctly accused and killed child killer other than me thinking he's a dick who got what he deserved. I like to be able to root for my slashers! ;)

I'll choose guilty

Evil never dies. The more you piss him off the stronger he gets...especially in your dreams

I said guilty. That will be the big twist I think. They wouldn't give it away so quickly in the trailer. Though modern trailers give too much away these days, they don't tend to give the twist away. I think we'll be lead on that he was innocent and pissed throughout the whole film until the final nightmare where we'll discover that he really was a ck bastard and is just pissy that he got caught. And thus all fan boys around the world will go "it was ok...not terrible, but ok"

the only court that would find him innocent is the one in Transformers the Movie (1986) that dump people into the shark water after finding someone innocent

so in short GUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTYGUILTY

He has to be guilty, that's the whole point of Freddy, he was a child murderer in life and he carried on in death.

Innocent because this guy will turn out to be the real guilty one:

Just a hunch based on some character evidence:
