Paranormal Activity 3: What The Hype Is All About!

Paranormal Activity 3, which is currently the number one horror film in the country, multaneously thrilled and disappointed its loyal cult following with its latest addition to the series.

The major cliffhangers we were left with at the end of the second film, regarding the location of Katie and her nephew hunter are left unresolved in this film which takes place in the 80's, during the childhood of Katie and her ster Kristi.

This film establishes the foreshadowed demonic force that the sters were faced with as children, as described in both of the previous films. In this film, the cameras are operated by the childrens' step father, a well meaning wedding videographer who is concerned with Kristi's mysterious imaginary friend.

The plot unfolds to reveal more about the grandmother character and her involvement in the paranormal ongoings, as has been referenced vaguely in the original film and its sequel.

Overall, it is a good watch. Expect high highs and low lows, as is typical with this series. The slow moving sequences have a good climactic payoff. If you're expecting to see any of the scenes from the trailer, you'll walk away with blueballs. None of them made it into the final cut of the film, something we've been conditioned to expect.

As you may very well already know, this film set the perfect stage for Paranormal Activity 4. I believe that we should be refreshed to have a series that circles around the particular tuation of our protagonist(s) at different stages, versus a series that is villain-centric with interchangeable victims.

I would say it's definitely worth a try if you have the time to t down and enjoy it.
