The UK Horror/Thriller 'Splintered' Is Making It's Way To US Shores This March

A group of teenagers exploring a creepy abandoned building discover a terrifying creature on a bloodthirsty rampage in meon Halligan's Splintered which debuts on Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack and DVD on March 20th. The film stars Stephen Martin Walters (TV’s "Skins'), Holly Weston, Sacha Dhawan (TV’s "Outsourced"), Sadie Pickering, Jonathan Readwin (Dread), Sol Heras and Colin Tierney. The film won x awards at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, including Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Editing, Best Score, Best Special Effects and Best Make-Up. In addition, it was nominated for Best Horror Film at the 35th Annual Saturn Awards and for Most Memorable Mutilation for the arm removal scene at Spike TV's 2009 Scream Awards. Bonus features include a behind-the-scenes featurette and deleted scenes. Splintered will be available in a Blu-ray + DVD Combo Pack for $26.98 SRP and on standard DVD for $19.98 SRP.

Plot Synops:

Sophie, a teenager with a troubled past, puts herself and her friends at the mercy of a wild beast, when her curious obseson with the unexplained leads them deep into the Welsh countryde...

Locked in an isolated room in an abandoned building, Sophies attempts at escape repeatedly end in failure. She must find out what bizarre relationship her self appointed jailer has with the eluve prowling creature beyond the door? Sophie clings to the hope that her friends will rescue her. Unfortunately their desperate search for Sophie will inevitably end in death and despair.

I got excited for a minute because I thought this was a sequel to Splinter. Bummer.

Oh well, this looks quite good though!
