Gripping and terrifying, THE PACT instantly makes debuting writer-director Nicholas McCarthy a name of note in the modern horror field.

The Los Angeles Times' Mark Olsen called the film "weird, fantastical and sort of reasonable" and said it maintains its "sense of grounded directness up to the very end." Kyle Smith of the New York Post said its "moments of unexpected special effects are set up beautifully by long periods of suspense."
