MGM's Poltergeist Remake Now Has Its Director!

It seems like the remake of Poltergeist is finally starting to come to fruition. The project, which has been in development hell for quite some time, is now in the early stages of showing life.



According to Deadline, MGM has found a director for the remake which was originally overseen in 1982 by genre favorite Tobe Hoope. The source has revealed that Gil Kenan, who’s best known for helming Monster House and City Of Ember, will be the man tting in the director's chair for the upcoming film.

The remake of the horror-clasc is being produced by Sam Raimi, Nathan Kahane, and Roy Lee. The original starred Craig T. Nelson and Jobeth Williams as the parents of a normal family whose dream house turns into a nightmare.
