With more than 50 books currently available in his arsenal, chances are likely that you picked up at least one of R.L. Stine's Goosebumps paperbacks if you grew up in the 90's. With that being said, a movie based on the popular series has long been rumored to be headed to the big screen, unfortunately nothing has ever come to fruition. However, things look like they finally may be headed in the right direction for the project. Read on for more.

Deadline is reporting that
Sony Pictures is currently negotiating with Rob Letterman to helm the project, which is based on R.L. Stine's young-adult fright book series.
Letterman certainly seems qualified for rustling up scares for a family audience; his directing credits that include Monsters Vs Aliens, Shark Tale and Gulliver’s Travels, and his scripts include The Disappeared for Jason Bateman’s Aggregrate banner, and Paranormalists for Brian Grazer.
Goosebumps will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, and Sony Pictures is making the film with Scholastic Entertainment.
