Jack The Ripper Driven Tale FROM HELL Is Coming To Television!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

With Horror currently being as hot as it is within TV land it seems that any story which has ever had a taste of success in fright can suddenly be transformed into a new package, making it ready for the small screen.

We have learned that FX is currently developing FROM HELL, a drama series based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, which was adapted into the 2001 20th Century Fox feature starring Johnny Depp and Robbie Coltrane. Don Murphy, who produced the film, will be executive producing. Due to the graphic novel's length, Murphy says he always envisioned it as a TV series.

Directors of the film, The Hughes brothers, are not involved in the upcoming project in any way. David Arata will write the adaptation.

"FROM HELL tells the tale of Jack the Ripper with the killer himself as the main character. Detailing the events leading up to the Whitechapel killings and the cover-up that followed, the 572 page graphic novel is a meditation on the mind of a madman whose savagery and violence gave birth to the 20th century."

Will a FROM HELL television series make an impact? Only time will tell. We will bring you more on this story as it unfolds.
