Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

Dario Argento's 1977 classic Horror film SUSPIRIA is considered by many fans to be one of the very best movies ever made. Plans to create a remake were talked about for a while but never amounted to anything. Get ready because, SUSPIRIA is now gearing up to be reborn as a TV series with Argento along for the ride.

That's right, according to Screen Daily, France’s Atlantique Productions and Italy’s Cattleya company have joined forces to develop and produce the SUSPIRIA TV series which will be set at the turn of the 20th Century. Argento will be taking on the role of artistic supervisor for the now titled SUSPIRA DE PROFUNDIS which will be an “English-language period horror series in which the author De Quincey is the lead character. In the style of Sherlock Holmes, the story will explore psychological fantasies of evil and attempt to solve fearful mysteries. It will be set in London and Rome at the turn of the 20th century.”

Dario Argento had this to say of the upcoming project:

“The extraordinary freedom of expression and creativity that modern TV drama now offers and the interest that the public has shown towards it have encouraged me to take a stab at this new genre.”

Olivier Bibas and creative director Patrick Nebout will executive-produce along with Riccardo Tozzi, Giovanni Stabilini and Marco Chimenz.

SUSPIRA DE PROFUNDIS aka SUSPIRIA will start out with 12 episodes, each running one hour. The plan is to continue on for multiple seasons.

We will continue to bring you more on the SUSPIRIA TV series as it unfolds.
