Fresh News On AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL Within!

Bringing you the best in Horror Movie News, and all things Horror.

As the Fall begins to get a little bit closer, the expectations of the upcoming season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL continue to rise. Not long ago we learned that Finn Wittrock had officially joined in on the fun, and today welcomes yet another familiar face to the AHS mix.

Ryan Murphy has confirmed Emma Roberts to return to the upcoming season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL.

Roberts is currently busy filming the Murphy produced SCREAM QUEENS which will air in September on Fox. When she finishes up her obligations there, she will make her way back to AHS.

Murphy stated about Roberts' return:

"She comes at the end. She comes and she has a great thing with Evan Peters at the end."

Roberts is no stranger to AHS, as she was part of the third season COVEN and the fourth season FREAK SHOW.

Emma Roberts joins a cast already made up of Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Chloe Sevigny, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Finn Wittrock, Max Greenfield, Evan Peters, and Denis O’Hare.

Showrunner Ryan Murphy just recently revealed some information about Season 5. When asked about if Lady Gaga would be doing any musical numbers he replied:

"No. People, keep saying to me, “What numbers are they singing, what numbers are they singing,” and I say there will be no numbers... I’m excited about that and I think that’s why Gaga was excited about it; it’s not something that she’s ever done before. It’s a pure acting part. I think people expect that she’s going to be sitting in a bar in a white silk gown sort of singing songs — she is not."

Murphy then spoke about the tone of AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL saying:

"The upcoming season that we’re doing is much more horror-based; it’s much more dark. It’s about a theme and an idea that’s very close to my heart that I’ve always wanted to do that’s a little bloodier and grislier I think than anything that we’ve done before; it’s straight horror this year."

When asked what the inspiration for this season was he stated:

"It’s based in the hotel in horror movies and horror troves. We’ve researched several real-life hotels in downtown LA where absolutely horrifying things happened."

Murphy also spoke about the return of an AHS alumni:

"We’re just finalizing Denis O’Hare’s deal, he’s going to come back... we’re building this incredible six-story Art Deco hotel on the Fox lot."

Murphy also gave us a little insight into the roles of other cast members:

"Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters... this season they’re playing absolute evil villains so they’re very excited about that and I think people will really enjoy it, and the Gaga part is bananas good.

This year, it’s a true ensemble and I think we have more male parts and more male stories... That’s not to say that the women aren’t either; I mean Kathy Bates and Gaga and Paulson’s part and Angela Bassett’s part are great."

Jessica Lange previously stated that she will not be a part of Season 5. However, in a recent interview with The Wrap Lange says that she would "absolutely" come back if creator Ryan Murphy offered her "a small character for a couple of episodes." She went on to say that "this was a great collaboration, so I would love to keep working with him."

As of right now Jessica Lange is not a part of the upcoming season of AHS but that all could very well change.

Shooting for AMERICAN HORROR STORY: HOTEL is expected to begin this summer and will air at the end of October, as previous AHS series have. We will continue to bring you more on this story as it unfolds.
