RZ Halloween Trailer Mask

I don't know if this question has been answered before... but I certainly don't know the answer to it. So...

What mask, if any, was used in the RZ Remake trailer/tv spots that flashed over young Michael's face? I found some stills that intrigued me, and seem to show two different masks.

This, I believe, is from a trailer and most tv spots:

And then there's this one... which I think appeared in the official (2:00) trailer:

Can anyone shed some light on this? I happen to like the second one more... a lot more. And it looks more clasc, like the original from H1 & H2 (which I don't quite understand unless they were just trying to bring more people in). I figured I'd ask around before doing any research. I might just be late with this. Anyone?

i dont think they were trying to bring more people in with "false adverting" per se

i never noticed that before and most people wont unless they are enough of a junky to frame by frame analyze the trailers.

It (and I say this knowing how absurd it is) reminds me a bit of a Warlock. And like you said... it has an H2 look. I hope to find out what that is though. Until I do it will bug the living shit out of me. But yeah... who knows?

Many many people think that indeed is a Warlock in this scene....



Tough to say but it really looks close to a Warlock to me as well....

I saw a preview poster in the theater 6 months before the movie was released and it had what looked like a H2 style mask and a knife....it kind of freaked me out and gave me hope that they would go back to the 75 look.,...no dice when the film came out though. I think they did that in the preview you saw too to grab us old timers back to the Halloween films.

That's what I was thinking. Something like it anyways. That's pretty crazy.

i still dont think it was an intentional swerve. i say it was just a quickie paste job just to get the teaser done

I read this and had an image of a bunch of us with walkers and cardigans complaining about misng the good old days of horror...the damn kids these days not knowing a real horror movie if it came up and bit them dagnabbit

It was a strange one. Just the H2 looking mask and a knife...Rob Zombie at the top and Halloween at the bottom...I wish I had it.

It is... but it contains the image that is also in the real trailer. What is that image????

I know!!! It has Warlock features with Nemes eyecuts in my opinion. I'm starving for answers.

Yeah those are no doubt Warlocks but your right many were fan made.

Actually it was released on that date in a few countries. It was only released in Canada and the US on Aug 31st. It was released throughout most of Europe and Aa throughout October. I have to say... if they really used that for promotion, well I find that to be pretty cheap. It just seems so unlikely that they would to that.

That's exactly what I was thinking. If you indeed saw that one in the lobby... it had to be some sort of official print or something having to do with the real film. That really sucks in my opinion.

Do they have the rights to do that?

Does Terry even know that his mask was used in an official trailer?

That's showbiz for ya, I guess. It can also be said that, RZ did something milar with his 1st wife with the House of a 1000 corpses script as well. After she got him in the door a Lionsgate, after he had been sent on his way from Universal, he asked her for a divorce so he could hook up with Sheri. Sounds like he screws people over alot, after he gets what he can out of them.

When I started this thread... I knew this is how it would unfold. It's just too obvious.

I am aware that Terry does know of this and I did put in a message to him asking him some details if any that he knew of. We shall see what is said. Either way, they used Terry's masks which is a HUGE compliment to Terry's work...

Bisco and I hinted on the Warlock/Nemes look a bit earlier. I thought that it had Warlock features but the eyecuts were very Nemes-like. Good to finally know what I'm looking at. Thanks for that update.
