WB has decided to pull the plug on the much anticipated anthology movie, and sell it to which ever studio wants it. Much like what Universal did with RZ'z HO1000C's.

Last night Screamfest Horror Film Festival held the world premiere screening of Michael Dougherty's highly-anticipated Trick 'r Treat (trailer), which we caught last June at an early test screening. We have nce revised our review to reflect the final cut of the film, while B-D reporter BC has posted his official review over at his webte Horror Movie a Day. In addition, Dougherty chatted a bit about his future in the industry, all of the details can be found inde.

Lastly, he revealed that even with all the BS behind getting TRICK 'R TREAT into theaters, he'd love to do a sequel. His ideas range from having it take place in the future to having it take place on another location that takes local mythos into account, such as Louiana. He also joked that he'd love to have the "school bus" kids back for the sequel, only by then they'll be going through puberty and it'll just be weird...

Whether or not you'll be seeing TRICK 'R 'TREAT soon is still up in the air, and supposedly the screening could help boost the release. Fingers crossed.

They are already thinking sequel and they can't even get the freak'n original in theaters yet?!?!?!

However, the few who have seen this are raving how it's one of the better horror movies to come around in a while . .. but I say, "why not released then?"

I really want to see this (preferably in theaters) and will resort to a DVD rental if necessary.

It looks great from what we have seen, stupid studio needs to understand that original GOOD horror films can actually do decent buness, especially with good word of mouth.

Studios SUCK.

Yeah, that was the offical trailer for the movie. To bad it's been shelved for the time being anyway.

I don't get Warner Bros. at all.

Sounds like every screening they have for this thing it gets rave reviews.

Why not release it?

Plus, if they'd release this thing in October you can't tell me it wouldn't at least make it's budget back (which in Hollywood, breaking even is success for a film).

Also, I'd much prefer a theatrical release but I'm getting desperate . . .I'll even take a direct to DVD at this point.

If DVD/Blu-ray is the only option then I'll take it.

I've been scouring the internet for a bootleg copy, but no luck on that front either.

Warner Brothers definitely needs to get it's head out of it's ass on this one.

Freakin just release it already

My Uncle and I have been waiting for this movie to come out for 2 years now.

It's soo frustrating for a HUGE FAN of the HALLOWEEN Holiday to have to t and wait until we hear an update as to when this movie is going to be released.

Then we read about all the RAVE reviews it got from the screenings that very few people were able to see and that frustrates us even more! I actually talked to the director of the movie; Mike Dougherty; a little while back and he is just as frustrated as all the fans because he above everyone else wants a release date but WB is being ridiculous.The latest I heard was that WB is now re-thinking about a posble release date... let's keep our fingers crossed! I think we have an awesome movie on our hands and I can't wait to see it!

well i read it on a movie blog a few weeks ago. it seemed very legit but i dont have the web address.

Just a few new things I've seen recently regarding Trick 'r Treat.

First, NECA's Sam figure will be arriving in stores for the holidays.

I don't remember seeing this the last time I checked the IMDb, but they are now listing October 2009 for the DVD premiere.

Apparently Rubies made a few masks of "the enforcer of the Halloween rules", "Sam", from Trick 'R Treat. One is a "Sam Burlap" latex mask, the other is a "Sam The Demon" mask. I hadn't seen these before, so I thought I'd post em.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!! I am soo friggin stoked that this is finally coming out!!! My uncle and I are having a Trick 'r Treat release party that night and we are gonna watch it with all our die hard horror/Halloween friends.

We have been waiting over 2 years for this.

It sucks that it won't be shown in the theaters but I am just thankful we get to see it at all.

This is sooo awesome and it's gonna be great seeing it just days before HALLOWEEN!!!

I hope this turns out to be true...I really do...but this isn't the first time a release date has been attached to this movie. I'd be a lot more optimistic if they had an actual date instead of just saying it'll be released in October.

This film has gotten a ton of hype and the anticipation for it's release has been great. I hope it doesn't lend itself to disappointment. I was really stoked to see the long (and still) delayed "Poughkeepe Tapes" and when i finally saw it I was really let down. it blew chunks. Theres not much proming horror films coming out these days. Maybe TRICK R TREAT will change that!

Trick 'r Treat Knocks Paquin's horror flick to DVD and BD. by David McCutcheon August 14, 2009 -

On October 6, 2009, Warner Home Entertainment will release Trick 'r Treat on Blu-ray and DVD.

The horror flick revolves around a touch of evil that goes door to door with wickedness following in its path, and stars True Blood's Anna Paquin. The film is also helmed by frequent Bryan nger collaborator Michael Dougherty. It will contain bonus materials and extra features, and the DVD will be available for the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) of $27.95, while the Blu-ray will run for the MSRP of $35.99.

I don't normally do the whole preorder thing, but I'll be making an exception for this just in case I can't find it in my area.

I am so damn excited to finally t down and watch this movie.

This is going to be the icing on the cake this Halloween season!

man shit was ok I tried my damdest to love it I even started with the lights on and told that idea to go fuck itself and turned em off the pumpkin carver shit was sweet, im glad they werent vampires, and sams look masked more than unmasked but unmasked was pretty sweet too were the only thing that really stuck out for me

if they made of a movie just based around sam and not a anthology set it up would be pretty sweet. I also think this could went pg-13

not saying it was bad it was pretty good not fantastic but not bad by any means

i watched it, id give it a 7 out of 10, wasn't too excited on the part during the girl becoming werewolves, i mean yes there was boobies, but ehh.

Really enjoyed this especially Sam & how all the stories were intertwined. Looking forward to the sequel.

Just watched this finally. I'm not going to say I loved it with this initial viewing but within 2 or 3 more times of watching it I think I could love it. Gave me a great Halloween feel and certainly furthered my Halloween mood. Sam was so adorable, in a disturbing way. I loved the principal's costume when he was at the party, it was certainly bad ass. Makes me want to carve some pumpkins too.

Great film overall, I give it a 9/10.

As I mentioned in the other thread--the production degn is out of this world.

I enjoyed the movie a lot--not on the level I'd hoped, but my expectations were very high.

I bet my next viewing(next Halloween) I'll probably like it even better.
